My experience with Dr. Tarantola and his staff was amazing. Dr. Tarantola and Mrs.Cheryl were absolutely incredible.They were diligent and patient centered. They spent my entire new patient appointment focusing on only me.They did not hop back and forth between patients. During the appointment I felt the concern that they had for my health. I could truly tell that they cared about me as a person and truly wanted to understand my dental needs and how they could help me feel better.This is the first dentist that I have ever been to that focuses on whole body health rather than just a quick fix like most other dentists.I have been praying that I would find a good holistic dentist and am so thankful that the Lord guided me to Dr. Tarantola. The doc will be creating a treatment plan, and I am looking foward to returnimg for the first available appointment. I was told by other dentists that I would need a root canal which I am against. After examination Dr. Tarantola stated that he could provide treatment without the need for a root canal. I was truly impressed with my experience at Tarantola dentistry and now feel so much relief.

Dr. Tarantola saved my teeth. I had horrible amalgam fillings and a few poorly installed composite fillings. He safely removed them all and replaced them with gold on-lay’s that I invested in. It wasn’t cheap, but you get what you pay for and 4 years later I’m chewing like a king and have no issues or complaints whatsoever. Just recently, I had another old composite filling crack and I had it removed and replaced with another gold on-lay that went as smooth as before. Very high quality dental work and professionalism from my personal experience here. Thank you Dr. T, Cheryl, and the rest of the team!

I am very happy with the care that I got from dr. Tarantola. I am a holistic physician myself and was impressed with his honesty and skill. I was able to keep my tooth whereas any other local dentist would have recommended a root canal. My husband who was also an emergency physician for 40 years stated that Dr.Tarantola is the best dentist he has ever been to in his life. I have been coming to Tarantula Dentistry for a year or so and I have to say they are the best I've been to by far! I have had an extensive amount of work done and I can now smile with full confidence again. I am amazed with the work they have done and Cheryl is very welcoming and just the sweetest Lady. I have been going to Dr. Tarantola's office for about 7-8 years now. If you want personal one-on-one care, a dentist who truly cares about you and your health, and someone you can trust, look no further! Prior to Dr. Tarantola, I had horrific experiences with dentists. I'm very conservative with my teeth and I had dentists telling me years ago that I needed several root canals. My fillings all kept falling out because the work was rushed. I was in tears about my teeth all the time. From the first day I walked into Dr. T's office, I knew I had found my new dental home. He sat me down, talked about my future care plan -- what we needed to do right then and what could wait. And I've been going there ever since. I love his gentle, conservative, holistic approach. I am still dealing with leftover issues today from my other dentists, but instead of having dread and fear when a new issue arises, I'm at peace and confident that I can call Dr. T and go to a dentist I 100% trust to make the best decision possible for my teeth, my health, and me as a person. I have been to Dr T a few times, for root canal tooth pulled & 4 mercury fillings replaced. Another dentist started to replace my mercury filings, and the tooth was gray afterwards. When Dr T took the mercury fillings out my teeth are not gray as previous dentist explained this is normal.. NO IT ISNT!! Dr T has pictures of before & after from his patients and he & his wife Cheryl are very kind, knowledgeable and take time w/their patients. I have and will keep on recommending them.

I love this Dental office, so much so I drive a 12 hour round trip to go there. After researching the dangers of conventional dentistry I knew a holistic approach was all I was interested in, and finding Dr T and Cheryl was a real gem. This office is simply wonderful and restored my faith in dentistry!! I had had horrible experiences with dentists growing up and was terrified to go and get my mercury fillings replaced (even though I had been having issues with them the last few years). If I could give Tarantola Dentistry a hundred stars, I would! Today was my second experience with the practice and the second time Dr. T saved me from unnecessary procedures. I didn't continue my association with his practice after the intial contact simply because of the extra travel involved in getting to him; but now I'm done with any other dentist in the area. I'll go the extra miles to see the doctor I trust to do the right thing for me.
Most recently the incident that took me back to Dr. T occurred when I went on a first appointment with a new dentist. He did a "comprehensive oral evaluation" and recommended I have a cracked molar crowned, but first he wanted me to have a root canal. I had absolutely zero pain in that tooth, so I inquired about the necessity for a root canal (at an additional $1,100-1,400). I was told, not in such clear language though, it was a preventive measure so there wouldn't be pain after the crown was completed. What?!! So I left his office and went home and did some research. I found there is indeed a greater possibility of needing a root canal after getting a crown, but it's not a significant percentage of patients even as much as 15 years later. In thinking it over, I considered several possibilities for the recommendation: (a) the in-house endodontist at the practice needed to be kept busy, (b) mo' money, and (c) questionable ability of the person doing the crown. But I felt strongly, to give the man the benefit of the doubt, I should get a second opinion, which is when I called Tarantola Dentistry. Dr. T was able to see me the very next day for an evaluation.
I was shown the films of my tooth and learned not only was the structure still good but also the nerves were fine, with no abscess and no infection. A root canal was definitely not needed and Dr. Tarantola offered a better alternative to a crown, a resin-based restoration that would save the tooth without disturbing the nerves--those in the tooth and those in my psyche! After he gave me that news, I left his office feeling I'd been given a reprieve from the gulag. I mean, have you ever talked to anybody with a good root canal story?!!
Today I had the restoration done. Saved me over a thousand dollars and I have my original tooth with a makeover!! It's beautiful! And Dr. T and Cheryl--what a team. Poetry in motion. They're so proficient and compassionate, as well as entirely trustworthy. I'm done with the rest of the dental practices in the area. Dr. Tarantola and his staff will be the only people taking care of my teeth from now on!

My husband researched Tarantola Dentistry prior to going. Both of us were having some issues and we decided to become patients. The doctor and his assistant, Cheryl were both warm and welcoming. She took our temperature upon arrival and only allowed one patient at a time in the reception area or the dental office, which helped us to feel safe. This was the best experience I have had with a dentist. I had to have an extraction. Everything was explained to me that was going to happen. I understood why the tooth had to be extracted and it was removed in a very gentle way. This Is the first time I have ever had an extraction where I did not require pain medication in the healing process. Obviously I had to have pain medication during the procedure but nothing afterwards. I hope Dr. Terantola stays in business for a long time because I really appreciate the care that he and his wife provide.

Both my husband and I have had pleasurable experiences after going to Dr. Tarantola’s holistic dental practice. His wife, Cheryl took our temperature upon entering. We wore masks until we were seated in the dental chair. They only allow one person at a time in the reception area and back in the dental offices. We felt very safe. Dr. Tarantola resolved my current issues and even called me at home to follow up the next day and inquired as to how I was doing after a procedure. Of all the dental work I have received over the last 20 years, my appointments with Tarantola Dentistry are the best experiences I have ever had. From my cleaning to my mercury removals, the experiences each visit are consistently relaxing in a calm atmosphere. The skill level and clear communication of both Gregory and Cheryl are exceptional. They assess your dental issues from a holistic and conservative viewpoint which allows you as the patient to feel more comfortable in deciding what works best for you. They do not push unnecessary dental procedures and they explain why which enabled me to make a more informed decision. I had very old fillings in my mouth which over time have been eroding away. After researching for a bit I found Tarantola Dentistry to be the most thorough in their explanation in how they remove the mercury safely and holistically to ensure that my teeth achieve the best results after this process. I, like other children of the 80s, have a deep rooted fear of seeing a dentist, but I can honestly say that nowadays, most dentists have acheived that great 'bed-side' manner.
However, all of those nice dentists fail in one way that, to me, is utmost important ... a true care for my teeth as well as me as a whole person. Dr. Tarantola and staff are the ONLY ones in my vast experience in dentist's chairs that have actually made me feel safe, cared for, and listened to when it comes to the care and fear of my teeth.
Just recently, I had to visit a random dentist for an old tooth filling breaking, the moment I walked into the office, I knew it was a mistake. The smell .. that chemical smell ... permeated the crowded waiting room. The staff were lovely, the dentist was kind but I felt that he was treating me as everyone else. As soon as I walked out ... I immediately called Dr. Tarantola and planned to make the drive instead. And I am soooooo glad I did! Kind dentist, near me, looked at my tooth and xray in 3 seconds stated I would have to have a crown, no other options. Dr. Tarantola wanted to save my tooth ... and he did!!

I was faced with a root canal and did not want to do this. I did my research and decided to go with an implant. I live in Debary, FL. and wanted the Holistical approach. I was very nervous and drove 1.5 hr one way to Dr. T's office. I am so happy I went with my gut and continued treatment with Dr. T. He has been a fabulous dentist. I can't believe how much better I feel since my tooth was pulled. My body was fighting this infection leaving me tired all the time. Since my tooth has been pulled I feel myself again. The implant process has been a dream. It seems crazy but I have had no pain at all from the beginning to the end of this process. I highly recommend Dr. T and Staff!!! LOVE THIS DENTIST.

I highly recommend Tarantola Dentistry. Dr. Tarantola, and his staff, are very professional, caring, and proficient, in providing personalized treatments and care. If you prefer holistic approach to conventional, they can accommodate. If you need a dentist who will take his time with you, a staff who are competent AND friendly, and a comfortable environment, look no further. I only wish i'd have found them long ago! Dr. T is very skillful and thorough, and he and Cheryl (his wife) work together like a finely tuned machine - not to hurry you along, but to provide the most comfortable experience possible.
PS. Squeamish about getting shots in the mouth? Have no fear, I was shocked at how gently and painlessly Dr.T delivers them. Really. I never even felt a pinch (other than him pinching me to distract, which is funny because the real pinch never follows!) Not a huge deal for me, but I know many who dread oral injections, and I told him he deserves an award - if only there were one for this!

For those who have any understanding of the value holistic dentistry as I do, I can tell you that Dr. Tarantola is at the top in his field of expertise and protocol. I have had very many dental appointments over the years, including two in foreign countries. Dr. Tarantola exceeds all other dentists by a significant margin. His conservative approach is refreshing by doing what is best for the patient, not for his financial gain. His is meticulous and very thorough in his work, providing personal attention instead of making you feel rushed through, as many offices do to meet quotas.
My last appointment included work on five teeth. Upon determining that it would be less complicated than anticipated, he adjusted his fee significantly. I feel many other dental practices would have simply 'had an easier day', and just kept the fees the same. Such honesty is truly something to be appreciated.
His assistant seems to have ESP, in anticipating what needs to be done throughout the procedures. The Dental hygienist has the same attention to detail. This dental practice is truly the Best.

Hi. My name is Chris. I’ve lived in Jacksonville for almost 33-years. I moved to the city just after completing high school and worked as a dental laboratory technician for 5-years just after arriving – while I put myself through college. Being a lab technician, I worked preparing crowns and bridges for many Jacksonville dentists. The quality of each dentist’s work was evident in the impressions and materials they provided to the lab – which was needed to make the crowns and bridges their patients needed. Lab technicians also had a lot of interaction with each dentist to ensure the patient received the highest quality product from the lab. Through these experiences, I’ve come to recognize the different levels of quality that dentists provide to their patients.
My “dental situation” is a complicated one. Before I had come to recognize the qualities of a good dentist, I had the misfortune of encountering a bad one. I had chipped my two upper front teeth in a teenage accident and simply needed to have them crowned. Unfortunately, the work provided by the dentist was of very poor quality and eventually caused me to require root canals and posts in both teeth.
After this experience, I longed to find the best dentist in Jacksonville. I desperately needed a dentist who could “fix” my smile. I found that dentist in Dr. Tarantola. The superior level of quality and service he provided to me, including meticulous detail to ensuring teeth appearance and aesthetics, restored my smile and gave me the confidence to show it to everyone I meet. For many years, I’ve come to rely on Dr. Tarantola and his assistant (Cheryl). They’re an amazing team, who can almost “read each other’s thoughts” to ensure that patient is very comfortable and receiving the best possible care.
I’ve come to trust Dr. Tarantola’s exceptional skill, amazing results and warm and friendly bedside manner. Now that I’ve found the best dentist I’ve ever encountered, I won’t go anywhere else. I have so much faith in him (and his team) that I continue to seek his services – even after he move his office from Jacksonville to St. Augustine (requiring me a 45-minute commute each way to visit his new location).

Absolutely the best dental experience I've ever had. Doctor Tarentola is a consummate professional.
I had the most extensive dental work done in my life. It involved tooth extractions bone grafting composite fillings and crowns. At no time during any of the procedures did I experience pain.
Doctor Tarentola is assisted by his wife during the procedures and they are a competent well-orchestrated team. The office is spotless and run professionally. One of the features of this practice is that Dr. Tarentola only works on one patient at a time.( Imagine that) you are the only person receiving his attention during your time there.
His diagnostic procedures are awesome they include hands on physical examination digital photographs of every tooth in your mouth from several angles x-rays and more.
He spends as much time as necessary to help you understand what he intends to do why he intends to do it and how you feel about it.

I suffered from chronic fatigue for several years. My Doctor was able to resolve most of my symptoms. But, I still spent many days just sitting on the couch reading a book or watching TV because I was too fatigued to do anything else. After subsequent testing, my Doctor determined that I had a chronic infection. It had been in my body for so long, that my body had stopped fighting it. He gave me some therapies to try, but also suggested that based upon my symptoms I may have a problem with my teeth. I didn't think that was possible, since my teeth didn't hurt and they felt perfectly normal. The additional therapies didn't seem to make much of a difference, so I started to consider the connection with my teeth. I did some research and started to realize that I had some 50 year old silver fillings, 35 year old composite fillings and two 30 year old crowns. I visited a few dentists to discuss removing the old dental work and replacing it. They each placed me in the dental chair, inspected the fillings and crowns and told me everything looked ok. I couldn't get anyone to listen to my story. I'd just about given up hope, when my husband who is in the medical profession, found Dr. Tarantola. We made an appointment, and the first thing Dr. Tarantola did was to sit me down in a small conference room and talk to me about my dental concerns. He agreed that dental work that old could have degraded over time and possibly be a cause for infection. He came up with a plan for removing the old dental work and replacing it. I've already had several appointments with Dr. Tarantola, and after each one I've noticed an increase in my energy level. I'm starting to feel like my old self again. Thank you Dr. Tarantola for restoring my health!!!

Dr. Tarantola is hands down the best dentist I've ever been to ... excellent dental care combined with warmth and genuine interest in his patients, not to mention a holistic emphasis on healthy teeth, his wife Cheryl and hygienist Jenna are caring and both do an excellent job as well. I am so grateful for Dr. T saving a tooth that other dentists said had to have a root canal and crown. You come away with the feeling that all that they do is for the health of your teeth and for you to have a good experience... Thanks Dr. T!!!
